I’ve decided what I’m reading for bedtime stories. And by the way, the artwork is just gorgeous. It’s hard to imagine that this WASN’T the nicest thing John received on the Tour De Nerdfighting.
The first 5 pages of a kids book I wrote for Henry Green entitled ‘What is a Nerdfighter?’ where I attempted to explain Nerdfighteria to a 2 yr old.
I really loved working on this! It took me over 45 hours to paper craft all the illustrations and bind it, but I was able to put the original into John’s hands at the Tour De Nerdfighting Atlanta stop.
Horse from talking to every single Nerdfighter in the 800 person line, he seemed very grateful, but dazed. He and Hank are some of the most honorable people I have had the pleasure to meet. They stayed for hours just to make sure every kid knew they were important. They personalized every book, they took the time to look you in the eyes.
To make this effort, John had to leave Henry at home for over a month. I felt like if I could show Henry a smidgen of the care that his dad has for all of us, and that we have for all of him, then Henry might understand why we borrowed his dad for so long.
